The Economic Development Corporation, City of Rugby, North Dakota (EDC) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1957. Membership includes 79 individuals and businesses. The EDC is concerned with any development, not limited to industrial, which may benefit the area. The Group is equipped to offer assistance, direction or guidance to obtain a beneficial mutual goal.
The EDC has received intermediary lending ability approval from the Small Business Administration. The EDC strives to provide loan assistance for startup companies/entrepreneurs in Rugby. At the discretion of the Board, they may provide up to 10% of the project up to $25,000, depending on available funds.
The EDC has played a major role in the successful accomplishment of such projects as Rugby Livestock Sales Ring, Heart of America Library, and Rugby Manufacturing.
